The non-negotiables
- ABN — required to invoice and to be taken seriously by site managers.
- Public liability — $10m or $20m is the standard site managers ask for. Have the certificate ready as a PDF.
- Food safety — packaged shelf-stable product is low risk, but state requirements differ for chilled and fresh food.
Your site agreement should cover
- Tenure — minimum term and notice period
- Power supply and who pays
- Access hours for restocking
- Exclusivity within the site
- What happens if the site changes hands
A practical warning
A handshake placement is the most common way operators lose machines. One page, signed, protects the asset you paid thousands for.
